The house is constructed to American and Canadian standards.

There is a full kitchen with everything that you need to cook.  If you prefer, delicious homemade Costa Rica food can be ordered in advance and delivered to you from a nearby family for any meal.

This 3 story, split level home is very clean and nicely furnished.  There is satellite TV as well as a DVD and VCR player.

The downstairs bedroom has a double bed, sleep sofa, full bathroom and a private deck.

The wide open dining room with large windows is a perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends while also enjoying the incredible beauty of the rainforest.

The water is safe and potable in this part of Costa Rica, but if you prefer, bottled water is available.

The house is located in Sitio de Mata, a small, friendly, farming town.  It is unspoiled by tourists and has beautiful views of forest all around. We invite you to visit this amazing rainforest getaway and begin your perfect Costa Rican vacation.

The owners are a former Peace Corps volunteer who fell in love with this beautiful, friendly town when she lived there 12 years ago, and her native Costa Rican husband (seen on the right eating breakfast with his family).  They are familiar with the area and can help you plan your stay. This will one day be their retirement home!

Take an exciting mountain bike tour through the Turrialba countryside.  There are 2 Trek mountain bikes that come with the house.

Our caretaker has horses available for a scenic horseback riding tour.

There are hiking trails going around the property with tropical flowers and fruits to enjoy.  You will see many birds and butterflies as you go.

If you are looking for more adventure, the city of Turrialba, famous for excellent white water rafting on the Reventazon and Pacuare rivers, is just 15 minutes away.  Also the Turrialba Volcano National Park and Guyabo National Park, an archaeological site, are close by.
